The wise man

/ Sahara, Mauritania /

The wise man looks into space, and does not regard the small as too little, nor the great as too big ; for he knows that there is no limit to dimensions. – Lao Tzu (also Laoze 570-490 bc )

Sunrise and Sunset

Sunrise and Sunset

I’ll tell you how the sun rose,

A ribbon at a time.

The steeples swam in amethyst,

The news like squirrels ran.

The hills untied their bonnets,

The bobolinks begun.

Then I said softly to myself,

That must have been the sun!

But how he set, I know not.

There seemed a purple stile

Which little yellow boys and girls

Were climbing all the while

Till when they reached the other side,

A dominie in gray

Put gently up the evening bars,

And led the flock away. – Emily Dickinson

The day the child realizes that all adults are imperfect, he becomes an adolescent; the day he forgives them, he becomes an adult; the day he forgives himself, he becomes wise.- Alden Nolan

– Alden Nolan
